W.M.C.

Your arms--
like a hammock on Sunday afternoon
cuddle-close and cradling

Your voice--
soothing and inviting;
familiar as windowless Summer drives

Your eyes--
as dark as the acorns that fall
from childhood's favorite tree

Your hair--
playful and messy
like kindergarten artwork

Your touch--
breaks down walls of safety:
revealing as slumber party confessions

Your prayers--
simple, yet profound
like advice before my first school dance

You are--
Strong and reassuring
like dreamy sleep in night-light glow

i kept waiting for someone to comment on this, but no one has yet, so i will

i think you should read this at the wedding or something. its really sweet.
i think my favorite one is the "dark acorns that fall, from childhood's favorite tree"
and my second favorite is "the advice before my first school dance" one.
there's been a lot of love poems written, but you still managed to keep it fresh and un-cliche'd.
good job =)
i hope you post up the rest of your poetry.

i think it's very beautiful, too. and i agree, you should think about reading it at your wedding. it's Really good. your writing has matured and grown so much even just this semester. you've always had the spirit of a writer, but i feel like you're growing into your own style as a writer this fall.

by the way, melanie said that your stuff in creative writing was really good at the sigma tau delta initiation. she was talking to renee and me about who were the best writers in her class, and you were one of maybe two names that she mentioned.
